Most of us read, unconscious of the
rules of interpretation that we employ in so doing. It's on a
par with our speaking and writing, which require knowledge of the
rules of grammar. Yes, in the use of our native tongue we are
largely unaware of the language-science we apply. It is however,
brought home to us when we study our native tongue, that our usage is
flawed at points with bad grammar and slang impressed on our minds
from an early age. Similarly, our interpretation of what we hear
and read is sometimes defective. However, it's never too late
to improve and to correct our bad habits, and enrich our lives by a
